Thanks for the comments on the last news post!

It's becoming apparent that people are actually visiting the site. Very exciting.

So, firstly game news.

Here's a picture, because they describe more than words right?

Mr Stouffer

I thought I removed all of my messy marks but I've just realized those yellow blocks below the chairs are still there. Well just imagine they're not.

Mr Stouffer is the headmaster of the school as you might have guessed. I made him look a bit like my headmaster from primary school. He was called Mr Lambert, but he was a nice bloke, unlike Mr Stouffer.

In real life, Mr Stouffer (or Stouffer as he's best known) is a blue rubber cat.

Yup. I'm not kidding.

For my 19th birthday I received a Stouffer from my brother, Rich:

Stouffer

Stouffer was a character from a TV show in the UK called The Harry Hill show. He also appeared in many of Harry Hill's stand-up acts.

I know. Interesting...

So far there are tens of cultural references that I've included in the game, and I'm hoping to pack a few more in.

Most people won't get them. Most references are so tiny that they're almost pointless to include.

If I've learned anything from observational comedian Michael McIntyre, it's to include so much rambling shit, that maybe once or twice, someone will relate to what you're saying.

Anyway, I've digressed.

What I really wanted to write about today was about the future of GP Studios (as the title suggests).

Yesterday I discovered that the next version of Flash (the software I've learned to create games with) will allow you to create iPhone and iPod Touch games.

I read up on it this morning, and it appears to be quite big news in the world of flash game designers.

A few months ago I looked into how people make iPhone apps/games, and I quickly found that I had to have an Apple Mac and some expensive software to do so, but now it appears all I need is the next version of Flash.

This is very exciting news for me (and other flash game designers), because now it introduces the possibility of making potentially much more money.

If I made a game in Flash CS5 (the upcoming version), I could receive money from sponsors (as I am doing currently) AND I can sell it independently as an iPhone game!

So, in short:

Good news.

Please leave comments, I had 4 comments last week and it was exciting stuff. Try and leave a few more this week and that would be grand.

Bye!
